15 Months Old Today!

Today is Lily's 15 month birthday and marks six months of us being together as a family! Daren and I often wonder how this gorgeous girl came to be in our lives. People often tell us how lucky they think Lily is, but the real question is, how is it that we are so lucky? Being Lily's parents is so much more rewarding, intense, fun, challenging and wonderful than we ever thought it would be and we wouldn't change a thing.

OK, onto the real reason you are actually checking out our blog...the photos. As you can see, Lily is very good about allowing me to fix her hair and play around with bows, etc. The pictures of her in the white were taken after we did our first professional family photo. I had taken off her pretty dress and she took off for the living room to play with her toys. She was in such a good mood!

The blond girl holding Lily is Caitlin, the daughter of our good friends, Rob and Carole. Not pictured is Claire, Rob and Carole's 20 month-old daughter from China. Caitlin is so pretty and such a wonderful big sister to Claire. Lily just loves Caitlin! This was taken at the FCC (Families with Children from China) annual Chinese New Year party. Unfortunately, we were so busy chasing Lily around that we didn't get any other good shots, but we had a good time.

The outside picture was a recent day of nice enough weather to go outdoors. We took Lily to the park where despite having a ball, bubbles and a playground full of fun stuff, she had the best time in the world picking up wet leaves.

Next weekend is our post-placement visit with our social worker (a requirement in the adoption process). This one time visit is to check in on our family to see how we're all adjusting. I'm not nervous or worried about anything, we're all doing just fine!
